What to expect:

If you haven’t practiced with me, you can expect that I will hold sacred space for you, with the pillars of intent: to heal and to awaken. I will always respond to the individuals that show up on the mat. Above anything that I invite you to participate in during the class, I will always ask that you take care of yourself first. (Yes, I have had people lie in savasana for the entirety of my class, and I was elated). Trusting yoga as an inner journey, my hope is that you will be self-referencing in your practice, and trust the innate wisdom of your cells. Together, we listen and respond.

I primarily teach Hatha Yoga and Meditation (and also love the practices of Vinyasa and Power Yoga). Once you arrive for practice you can expect to learn & sing mantra (often accompanied by harmonium), practice pranayama (conscious breathing), embodied movement inspired by the tradition of yoga and the natural world with a primary focus of energetic alignment and release, heartfelt offerings of poetry and myth, seated meditation and an invitation to weave the philosophical teachings of yoga into your human experience of life. Come with an open mind; the sky’s the limit.

“Are you looking for me? I am in the next seat. My shoulder is against yours. you will not find me in the stupas, not in Indian shrine rooms, nor in synagogues, nor in cathedrals: not in masses, nor kirtans, not in legs winding around your own neck, nor in eating nothing but vegetables. When you really look for me, you will see me instantly — you will find me in the tiniest house of time. Kabir says: Student, tell me, what is God? He is the breath inside the breath.” — Kabir

Andrea’s core values

Courage : showing up for your life and risking vulnerability is more life-enhancing than habit, security and routine.

Integrity : walk the talk. Do what you say you will. Actions speak louder than words. Align yourself with your highest potential and remain authentic to you.

Nature : go outside and be with the natural world. Listen, witness, respond. And, take action to protect our Great Mother Earth who provides us with everything - EVERYTHING. Move into Ayni (Reciprocity) with Her and all of our relations.

Wholeness : you are the underlying perfection of the universe. You are a gift from God - a child of Creation. You are Divine Light. There is nothing about you that needs to be changed or fixed. Unravel to remember.

Compassion : be kind to yourself and others. Do no harm with your thoughts, words and actions. We all make mistakes - forgive yourself and others. Do the daily work of compassion in action
